Dr. Apichai Chantanakajornfung
Apichai Chantanakajornfung began his first musical instrument with piano in his childhood, then changed to classical guitar and studied seriously with Woratep Rattana-umpawan. In 2002, he was an exchange student in America and received guitar lessons with Carlo Pezzimenti. In 2008, he graduated with first class honor from Chulalongkorn University majoring in classical guitar performance under the guidance of Buppavan Theeravanvilai. After that he took guitar instruction from Leon Koudelak before continuing his master degree in this field at Conservatory of Vienna with Heinz Wallisch and Jorgos Panetsos. His master thesis on the life and works of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco was granted with distinction. Additionally, he participates regularly in guitar festivals and obtained masterclasses with many noted guitarists such as David Russel, Pavel Steidl, Avaro Pierri, Christian Gruber, Paul O’Dette and Michael Tröster. Presently, he works as a guitar instructor at Sarasas Ektra School.
